Guess who's remaking a classic?

Columbia Pictures is developing the remake of the 1967 classic, "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner," which originally starred Sidney Poitier, Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn.

This time around, according to the Hollywood Reporter, there is no script yet, but it will star Bernie Mac.

In the new version, unlike the original, which had Poitier coming to meet the bride-to-be's white family, Mac would play the Spencer Tracy character, whose daughter dates (and brings home) a white man.

"The Bernie Mac Show" on Fox on Wednesdays at 9:30 E/P  won a prestigious Peabody award this year. "To receive this award which salutes quality, sincerity and great integrity is a wonderful accomplishment for everyone who's worked so hard on this show," Mac said through his publicist.
