News Spotlight: A Community Conversation on Redistricting
Tuesday, May 03, 2011
A Community Conversation on Redistricting will be held at the Radisson Hotel in Lansing on Tuesday, May 10, from 2:00-3:15 pm.  The way political district lines are drawn, a process that takes place just once every 10 years, can keep our communities together or split them apart changing whether we have representatives who feel responsible for our concerns. Facilitated by The Center for Michigan, this discussion will expand your knowledge about the process and potential problems with how legislative district boundaries are chosen and will provide an opportunity for you to give input on potential approaches to reforming the current process.  Register for the event at http://fs16.formsite.com/lwvmi/CommunityConversations/index.html.

The League of Women Voters of the Lansing Area is sponsoring a Close up on Michigan Redistricting on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the East Lansing Public Library Meeting Room at 950 Abbot Road in East Lansing.
