Lansing School Board Swears In New Officers

The Lansing School Board held its organizational meeting tonight and elected the following members as officers for 2008:

President - Hugh B. Clarke, Jr.
Vice President - Melanie Rogers
Treasurer - Guillermo Z. López
Secretary - Amy Hodgin

Guillermo Z. López along with new members Charles E. Ford and Shirley M. Rodgers were sworn into office by 30th Circuit Court Judge James R.Giddings.  All three board members, who won their seats in last November's general election, will serve six year terms in a non-paid capacity.

Greater Lansing African American Health Institute (GLAAHI) helps the uninsured

The Greater Lansing African American Health Institute located at 835 West Genesee has applications for the Ingham Health Plan.  The Ingham Health Plan is a community sponsored program that helps uninsured people and Adults Benefits Waiver (ABW) program recipients get medically necessary health care services.

Ingham Health Plans covers medically necessary health care services including:  doctor visits, outpatient lab tests, outpatient x-ray tests, prescriptions from pharmacies if on the list of covered drugs and smoking cessation services.
