Excuse me, Are you Listening? We will be talking about 2020 for a long time!

 Dear Readers,

It seems as though 2020 has lasted for two years already.  Is that even possible in late August or early September?  With the amount of sleepless nights and no end to the novel Coronavirus, we still remain more stressed than ever.  Who would have ever thought that the idea of wearing a mask would cause so much controversy?

Excuse me, Are you Listening?: Spend time with your tribe

 By Rina Risper

Recently, my daughter Anissa and I went on a trip to Lexington, KY.  Bluegrass country with its sprawling lush pastures dotted with horses was breathtaking.  I could not tell the difference between the types of horse but it was so beautiful and serene.

Excuse me. Are you listening? The Unintentional or Intentional Eavesdropper?

Dear Readers,

It used to always feel wonderful when someone would ask me to meet at a coffee shop for a business meeting.   More recently, I am finding that it is better to stay in an office setting depending on the type of conversation that you are going to have.  Watching the steam rise from your cup of black coffee with a double shot of expresso, while waiting for your coffee mate to arrive can sometimes turn you into a chatterbox.

Part II: Ingham County Land Bank: Two Drug Rehabilitation Facilities in One Square Block?

Editor’s Note:  This was printed in the last edition, however, I am reprinting it for clarity and content. Everything about this transaction between Ingham County Land Bank and MidMichigan Recovery Services (MMRS) appears shady, underhanded and suspicious and should be investigated thoroughly.

Excuse me, are you listening?

Dear Readers,

There’s something about having the opportunity to reflect on what you have been doing right and wrong as a parent.  There isn’t a guide book on parenting because each child is uniquely different.

Excuse me, are you listening? 16-8

 Dear Readers,

I am looking forward to the day that I can take all of my winter clothes to the cleaners before I store them.  I will also take my winter boots and shoes to the shoemaker.

Excuse me, are you listening? 16-7

 Dear Readers,

I am hoping that longer days are helping you deal with cabin fever.  It has been a long winter.  I know that it was mild but it just seems as though the sun does not stay out long enough.  The clouds seem to cover the sun more often than not.  It has just been a dreary time.

Excuse me, are you listening? 16-6

Dear Readers,

Short and sweet today.  I am fighting off another cold.

Herbert Bayard Swope once said, “I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure – which is: Try to please everybody.”

Excuse me, are you listening?
